Where Do You Keep The Key To Your Safe?

It doesn't matter what you decide to store within your safety deposit box, you should make sure the key to your safety deposit box stays safe! There's no use storing your most important valuables in a safety deposit box that you cannot access. You'll be surprised to learn just how many people lose the keys to their security deposit box. Usually, homeowners with safes normally do not call for personal items within the safe very often and so they are left for significant periods of time. Without frequent entry to your safety deposit box, failing to remember where the key is put can be easily done. If the batteries run out of power however, you will need access to an override key, which will be provided with your safety deposit box when needed. The override key allows you to unlock the safe and replace the batteries (which are located inside the safe on the back of the door). Unfortunately, many safe owners think it's a good idea to store the key within their safe, so if and when the batteries do die, a locksmith has to be called in order to gain access.

You will need to pay for the service provided, so if you want to save yourself money in future, remember that storing the override key within the safe is not a good idea. There are many places you can store a safety deposit key, you may prefer to take it with you and attach it to your key chain, or you may prefer to store it separately from your other keys, perhaps by hanging them in your key box, if you have one or keeping them safe in a draw somewhere, or perhaps even under your mattress?
